An important trend in the energy transition is decentralization of energy generation and storage. For example, cooperatives are appearing at the local and regional levels, in which generators and consumers want to jointly make smart use of energy surpluses. We respond to this by developing decentralized solutions for efficient and sustainable energy systems. These include, for example, electrolyzers for the production of hydrogen from (green) power or innovations in battery technology for improving storage capacity. We apply our broad mechatronics experience and multi-physics knowledge for this purpose.

Start of construction on first molten salt reactor test facility in The Netherlands

On June 1, construction on the first test facility for Thorizon’s molten salt reactor (MSR) in the Brabant region officially started. This marks an important milestone in the development of innovative nuclear technology that is widely seen as a promising step toward stable, reliable and clean energy in Europe. The kick-off event at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven brought together key representatives from government and industry, including European Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra and State Secretary for Climate and Green Growth Jo-Annes de Bat.

Demcon achieves ISO 27001 certification.

We’re proud to announce that Demcon management & support has officially obtained the ISO 27001 certification, the internationally recognized standard for information security. Although we have long been working in accordance with this standard, the certification marks an important milestone: our structured, consistent, and demonstrable approach to safeguarding information is now formally validated.

Sustainability at Demcon: not a project, but a way of working

Last summer, we were visited by Douwe de Vries, a reporter from Overijssel Onderweg. Throughout the season, he toured several companies in the province to learn about their sustainable mobility policies. True to the theme, he cycled all the way from the provincial government building in Zwolle to our headquarters in Enschede.
