DUI confirms 10 systems ordered for 2022

Dutch United Instruments (DUI) recently confirmed their tenth order for delivery in 2022. These orders include all products in their NMF product range, which are the NMF350 S, NMF600 S and NMF800 S. With this final order, DUI starts the year on a high note. Gerard van den Eijkel, managing director of DUI, is pleased with the result: “Our team has been working very hard on this design for the last couple of years. With these orders, we prove that the market is in need of a fast high-end metrology system for asphere and freeform optics. We were able to focus on perfecting the design and developing different sizes of the metrology tool. Being part of the Demcon group provides us all the operational support and resources for our growth.”

High tech company Demcon opens branch in Maastricht

Technology developer and producer Demcon (850 employees) has opened a branch at the Brightlands Health Campus in Maastricht. The high-tech company, founded in Enschede in 1993, has branches in the Netherlands in Best (Eindhoven), Delft, Enschede and Groningen, each close to a university. In Maastricht, the company is already working with the medical faculty of Maastricht University. With this new location, Demcon aims to attract talent from the southern region of the Province of Limburg by offering challenging work whereby the proximity to Aachen in Germany and Leuven in Belgium offers opportunities. The company started out with ten employees and expects to grow considerably over the coming years.

Vaxtractor boosts vaccination campaign

The first Vaxtractor was deployed in early December. With incredible precision and a filling rate of 250 syringes per hour, Vaxtractor can significantly ease the workload during the upcoming booster campaign. The machine was used in recent weekends to support the booster vaccination of Erasmus MC staff. Several thousands of staff were vaccinated. The initial findings are positive.

Orchard of the Future.

In the coming years, at Demcon, we will be committed to technology solutions for future-proof fruit cultivation in the Orchard of the Future project. Yesterday we signed this cooperation agreement together with 30 other parties in the Netherlands and the US. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration! ISO 45001 certification for Demcon.

Demcon has been ISO 45001 certified since this month. This certificate is the management system for working safely and in good health and concerns human well-being. It has been implemented for all Demcon companies. The certificate has been issued for the Demcon holding, Demcon advanced mechatronics, Demcon metal injection moulding and Demcon production.

SEISMIC consortium secures €23.5 million IHI grant to pioneer next-generation minimally invasive brain treatments

Curix, part of the Demcon group, today announced that the SEISMIC research consortium, coordinated by Philips, together with the Erasmus MC as academic lead, has been awarded funding from the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) to transform neurosurgery through the seamless integration of minimally invasive surgical techniques and advanced imaging technologies. The EUR 23.5 million public funding will be complemented by EUR 14.9 million in in-kind contributions and additional resources from industry partners, supporting a five-year research and innovation program that also includes eight clinical studies.

Demcon bolstered with the electronics expertise of Leap Development

Technology developer and producer Demcon further expands its technological capabilities with the introduction of Leap Development into the Demcon group. The company will continue its activities under the banner of Demcon electronics. The Deventer-based organization specializes in RF technology, wireless communication, embedded systems and integrated electronics development. With this latest addition, the Demcon group now has a specialized company that is dedicated entirely to electronics development projects and has state-of-the-art testing facilities.

Groundbreaking technology for the treatment of neurological diseases

Curix, part of the Demcon group, is developing groundbreaking technology for the treatment of life-threatening and debilitating neurological diseases. This new technology makes it possible to temporarily open the blood-brain barrier, addressing one of the biggest challenges in neurology. With this technology, drugs for brain tumors and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, can be delivered more efficiently. The participation of Twinning Participaties allows Curix to develop an injector system suitable for initial clinical studies in humans. “Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of improved treatments for neurological diseases”, says Peter Frinking, managing director and chief scientific officer at Curix.
