The Blade Barrier was presented on July 2, 2025, as the first noise barrier constructed from discarded wind turbine blades. The 60-meter-long test setup is located along the A58 highway near Oirschot and will be monitored until the end of 2026 within InnovA58; de infraproeftuin van Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management).

Every year, Technisch Weekblad (TW) publishes its R&D Top 50, highlighting the most innovative companies in the Netherlands. We’re proud to announce that Demcon has secured a 21st place this year!

Last summer, we were visited by Douwe de Vries, a reporter from Overijssel Onderweg. Throughout the season, he toured several companies in the province to learn about their sustainable mobility policies. True to the theme, he cycled all the way from the provincial government building in Zwolle to our headquarters in Enschede. Today in Assen, provincial deputies Bennema (Groningen) and Meeuwissen (Drenthe), together with council member Rink from the municipality of Emmen, awarded a subsidy of €14,927,479.42 to the project SORTED, a consortium of fourteen partners led by the Sympany foundation. The grant was provided by the ‘Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland’ and originates from the European Just Transition Fund (JTF), including €6 million in co-financing from the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

In a significant step towards fairer and more transparent checks, the Amsterdam police have officially received the first selection post from Demcon high-tech systems this week. This innovative technology ensures that random checks are truly random, helping to prevent ethnic profiling.
