Demcon is one of the three finalists for the Dutch Innovation Award 2020! We were selected on the basis of participation in the Dutch Innovation Monitor 2020 and additional research. The other nominees are Bolesian and Protix. The winner will be announced during the broadcast of the AVROTROS program The World of Tomorrow. It will be broadcast on NPO1 on Monday 19 October 2020. An expert jury will nominate the winner of the Dutch Innovation Prize 2020.

Demcon ranked tenth in Top 50 Engineering Firms in 2020.

Demcon this year was ranked in the top 10 of the Top 50 Engineering Firms 2020 by Technisch Weekblad – a Dutch weekly magazine specializing in engineering topics. Minister Van Rijn receives first ventilation system.

Today, Minister Van Rijn, responsible for Medical Care and Sport in the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, visited the location of Demcon in Best. There, on behalf of the Dutch government, he received the first ventilation system from Dennis Schipper, CEO of Demcon. In total Demcon will deliver 500 ventilation systems that the government will distribute among the hospitals who need them. The ventilation systems are only meant for coronapatients on the intensive care.

Queen Máxima visits producer of respiratory systems.

Her Majesty Queen Máxima on Thursday afternoon April 16, made a working visit to technology company Demcon in Enschede. The visit took place in the context of the coronavirus (COVID-19) breakout. Demcon developed, tested and produced a respiratory system suitable for use by patients in intensive care.

SEISMIC consortium secures €23.5 million IHI grant to pioneer next-generation minimally invasive brain treatments

Curix, part of the Demcon group, today announced that the SEISMIC research consortium, coordinated by Philips, together with the Erasmus MC as academic lead, has been awarded funding from the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) to transform neurosurgery through the seamless integration of minimally invasive surgical techniques and advanced imaging technologies. The EUR 23.5 million public funding will be complemented by EUR 14.9 million in in-kind contributions and additional resources from industry partners, supporting a five-year research and innovation program that also includes eight clinical studies.

Demcon bolstered with the electronics expertise of Leap Development

Technology developer and producer Demcon further expands its technological capabilities with the introduction of Leap Development into the Demcon group. The company will continue its activities under the banner of Demcon electronics. The Deventer-based organization specializes in RF technology, wireless communication, embedded systems and integrated electronics development. With this latest addition, the Demcon group now has a specialized company that is dedicated entirely to electronics development projects and has state-of-the-art testing facilities.

Groundbreaking technology for the treatment of neurological diseases

Curix, part of the Demcon group, is developing groundbreaking technology for the treatment of life-threatening and debilitating neurological diseases. This new technology makes it possible to temporarily open the blood-brain barrier, addressing one of the biggest challenges in neurology. With this technology, drugs for brain tumors and neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, can be delivered more efficiently. The participation of Twinning Participaties allows Curix to develop an injector system suitable for initial clinical studies in humans. “Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of improved treatments for neurological diseases”, says Peter Frinking, managing director and chief scientific officer at Curix.
